4MRecover 22.0 BETA released.

4MRecover is a small live CD designed for data recovery. It's a part of 4MRescueKit, which in turn is one of the three main 4MLinux releases available for download.
This version includes TestDisk 7.0 and it uses 4MLinux 22.0 as the base system.

Antivirus Live CD is an official 4MLinux fork including the ClamAV scanner. It's designed for users who need a lightweight live CD, which will help them to protect their computers against viruses. The latest version 22.0-0.99.2 is based on 4MLinux 22.0 and ClamAV 0.99.2.

4MLinux 21.1 released.

Firefox 52 in 4MLinux 21.1

This is a minor maintenance release in the 4MLinux STABLE channelThe release ships with the Linux kernel 4.4.56. Additionally, some popular programs (Audacity, Chromium, Firefox, SMTube) have been updated, too. 4MLinux 21.1 includes the updated apulse package (backported from 4MLinux 22.0) to fix the problem with sound in the Firefox 52 series.

You can update your 4MLinux by executing the "zk update" command in your terminal (fully automatic process).

4MLinux 22.0 BETA released.

Default desktop in 4MLinux 22.0

4MLinux 22.0 BETA is ready for testing. Basically, at this stage of development, 4MLinux BETA has the same features as 4MLinux STABLE, but it provides a huge number of updated packages, including major changes in the core of the system, which now uses the LTS Linux kernel 4.9 series and the GNU Compiler Collection 6.2.0. 

Development Plan:
March 2017 -> BETA
July 2017 -> STABLE
November 2017 -> OLD STABLE
March 2018 -> EOL

4MLinux 22.0 Core BETA released.

4MLinux 22.0 Core running in VirtualBox

This is a core system (only a few MB in size) for the 4MLinux 22 series. The system includes: the Linux kernel 4.9.13, GNU C Library 2.24, and BusyBox 1.26.2The 4MLinux 22 series uses GNU Compiler Collection 6.2.0 to compile programs designed for the i686 architecture.

4MLinux 21.0 STABLE released.

4MLinux 21.0

The status of the 4MLinux 21.0 series has been changed to STABLE. Create your documents with LibreOffice and GIMP 2.8.20, share them using DropBox 19.4.13, surf the Internet with Firefox 51.0.1 and Chromium 56.0.2924.76, stay in touch with your friends via Skype and Thunderbird 45.7.1, enjoy your music collection with Audacious 3.8.2 and aTunes 3.1.2, watch your favorite videos with MPlayer SVN-r37889 and VLC 2.2.4, play games with Mesa 13.0.4/Wine 2.2 support enabled. You can also setup the 4MLinux LAMP Server (Linux 4.4.44, Apache 2.4.25, MariaDB 10.1.21, PHP 5.6.30 and PHP 7.0.15). Perl 5.24.0 and Python 2.7.12 are also available. 

4MLinux now supports Windows shares (CIFS is available out of the box, while Samba client can be found on the 4MLinux installation CD). The proprietary drivers set is wider than ever and it includes:  AMD (Crimson and FirePro), NVIDIA (both mainline and legacy), and Broadcom (WiFi driver). The new (easy to notice) programs in user space are: LXTerminal (terminal emulator with full UTF support), Xpad (sticky notes application), and AlsaPlayer (music player). And finally, PHP7 has been added to the 4MLinux LAMP Server.

4MLinux 20 is now OLD STABLE.

The status of the 4MLinux 20 series has been changed to OLD STABLE. All users must update before July 2017 (EOL).
